This section shows data on the dairyi industry sourced from the “New Zealand Dairy Statistics”, a publication co-owned by DairyNZ and LIC, and supplemented with Infometrics’ calculations. The dairy industry is New Zealand’s biggest export earner and is a key driver of economic activity in large parts of provincial New Zealand. Variables provided include: cow numbers, herd numbers, effective dairy hectares, milk solids production, and Infometrics’ estimates of regional dairy payouts.
