Per capita incomei is a widely used measure of living standard, as it accounts for all sources of household of income as well as household size. Household size is an important consideration, as households with a similar household income may have drastically different living standards depending on how many individuals their income is spread across. Per capita income is based on our household income series, adjusted for population.
This section looks at how average per capita income in Auckland has changed over time and how this compares against annual average per capita income nationally. It is measured in current prices.
