The number of people employment in an industry can change over time. These changes are largely driven by economic conditions, such as employer’s perception of their future activity and their willingness and ability to create new jobs.

In this section we look at which industries have grown and which industries have declined. We do this at the broad 1-digit ANZSIC06 classifications as well as the more detailed 54 industry classifications used in the National Accounts.
